Square of a number : When a number is multiplied by itself then that product is called square of a number.
For example: Square of 3 = (3)2 = 3x3 = 9
Note: Square of negative number is always positive.
For example: Square of (-5) = (-5)2 = -5 x -5 = (+ 25)
Square Root : When a number is multiplied by itself to get the original number, then it is called square root. It is denoted by the symbol √ (Tick) called radical.
For example: Square root of 9 = √9= √3x3 = 3
